Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Brazilian attacker Savinho from Manchester City.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have now opened talks over a summer transfer. The 21-year-old is unlikely to get enough playing time at Manchester City and needs to leave the club to play more often next season.
A move to Tottenham could be ideal for him. Romano claims that the player is open to the move if the two clubs can agree on a deal. He further adds that the player has been identified as an ‘ideal’ target for Thomas Frank, who is keen for the deal to get done.
Savinho would improve Tottenham
Tottenham need more quality and depth in the wide areas, and the Brazilian would be a solid long-term investment. He will add goals, creativity, and unpredictability to the side. Tottenham will be able to provide him with regular game time, which could help him develop further. Sitting on the bench at Manchester City at this stage of his career will not benefit him.
It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can finalise an agreement quickly. Manchester City have done well to improve their squad over the last few months, and they might look to part ways with the South American so that they can bring in some funds and balance the books.
Spurs need attacking depth
Meanwhile, Tottenham have added Mohammed Kudus to the squad earlier this summer. They need more depth in attack. Signing another wide player and a centre forward should be their priority.
The 21-year-old has shown his quality in La Liga in the past, and there is no doubt that he has the ability to compete at a high level regularly. He could be an asset for Tottenham. If they can help him regain his form and confidence, he could be a game-changer for them.
