Tottenham have a number of offers on the table for Alejo Veliz this summer.

The Argentina under-20 international spent last season on loan at Espanyol, helping the Barcelona-based outfit to avoid relegation from LaLiga.

This came despite not truly lighting up the RCDE Stadium, netting just four goals on his temporary spell away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

That hasn’t stopped interest flooding in for his signature in North London, with Spurs set to consider the many offers made at this stage of the summer.

There was a point where it felt as if the 21-year-old was going to become a star member of the Lilywhites’ squad for many years to come.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t look likely to be the case after two disappointing loan spells in LaLiga with Espanyol and Sevilla.

With that being said, it does appear that clubs from his homeland are keen on bringing him in ahead of Thomas Frank’s first season in charge.

This has seen online Argentine outlet Soy del Millo report (3 July) that River Plate, Boca Juniors, Racing Club and Rosario Central are showing an interest in the forward.

This has seen Tottenham’s phone continuously ring, but it appears that the Spurs youngster won’t return to the Argentine Primera Division unless it is with his former club Rosario.

Veliz could turn down River Plate and Boca Juniors

With Dominic Solanke taking up the number nine role in North London, it is going to be difficult for anyone else to come in and take up that role.

This will especially be the case with Mathys Tel signing on a permanent deal from Bayern Munich at the end of his initial loan spell.

As a result, letting go of Veliz could prove to make total sense for the Lilywhites as they look to streamline their squad ready for the new campaign.

It will now be interesting to see who could come in and sign the attacker, especially if he remains unwilling to move elsewhere in Argentina.
