This quote is from Florin Manea, the agent of Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Drăgușin, in an interview with Romanian outlet DigiSport around December 24-26, 2025. It has not been received well by any voices I see online.
“There’s some speculation, and we’re analysing it. The club doesn’t want to sell him right now. However, if the number of games he plays isn’t what we want, then we’ll consider that. I’ll talk to him and we’ll evaluate together.
I know Inter will be looking for a central defender in the summer. If we decide that Radu needs to play more until then, we’ll let them know, and maybe Chivu will call me too. He still has four and a half years left on his contract with Tottenham, but the injury has kept him out for eleven months.
I can’t allow him to spend another seven without consistency. We need to find a solution to get him playing. He’s 100% determined. Now let’s focus on January, and then we’ll see.”
Radu Drăgușin suffered a serious ACL injury in his right knee during a Europa League match against Elfsborg on January 30, 2025. This sidelined him for approximately 11 months, with his return to full training in October 2025 and first minutes (in a behind-closed-doors friendly) in November 2025.
He recently returned to the match day squad (e.g., on the bench for a loss to Liverpool) but has had limited playing time since his recovery.
Professional player mediator Paul O’Keefe is particularly unimpressed, but then, who would be?
No from him. You can only represent someone for 2 years at a time. Player would need to renew. Cant believe he’s still with this fella. He yaps too much.

The agent expresses frustration over Drăgușin’s lack of consistent minutes, emphasising that Tottenham currently have no desire to sell, but that insufficient game time could force a reassessment. He highlights the player’s determination to play regularly and rules out another prolonged period on the sidelines.
However, this isn’t the first instance where Florin Manea has created speculation based on very little.
Manea specifically name-drops Inter Milan (managed by fellow Romanian Cristian Chivu) as a potential summer 2026 destination, noting Inter’s expected need for a centre-back (due to ageing defenders like Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij potentially leaving).
He says if Drăgușin isn’t playing enough by then, they’ll inform Inter.
Other Serie A clubs like AS Roma and Fiorentina have shown interest, with reports of approaches (some rejected by Tottenham). Interest in a January 2026 move exists, possibly on loan, but Tottenham appear reluctant to let him go mid-season.
