Tottenham player ratings vs Burnley
Guglielmo Vicario – A first clean sheet of the Premier League season for the Tottenham goalkeeper. It was not entirely straightforward, as he was called upon to make a couple of important saves to preserve it. 7.
Pedro Porro – A performance the full-back can certainly be proud of. He kept his winger quiet and also brought much-needed creativity from deep areas. 8.
Cristian Romero – Aggressive in the first half when contesting both aerial and ground duels. His passing was progressive throughout, and it was his forward ball that sparked the build-up for Tottenham’s third goal. 7.
Micky Van de Ven – Had a few opportunities from set pieces in the second half but could not find the net with any of them. Nonetheless, it was a very solid display from the Dutchman. 8.
Djed Spence – Endured a few nervy moments on his side of the pitch, with Burnley managing to get in behind on occasion, but ultimately it caused no lasting damage. 8.
Archie Gray – Tireless in his running, always chasing down loose balls and pressing aggressively. His best chance came in the first half when he forced a point-blank save. 7.5.
MORE SPURS STORIES
Lucas Bergvall – The Swedish international was not tired of running, as he looked to chase every ball. His best chance did come in the first half, where he drew a save from point-blank range. 8.
Mohammed Kudus – The Ghana international continues to play with great confidence and is forging an impressive partnership with Porro down the right. A constant creative spark, his delivery from wide areas was excellent, and he was rewarded with two fine assists. 8.5.
Pape Matar Sarr – Another strong showing in midfield. Pressed intelligently, pinched possession several times and capped off his display with a perfectly weighted pass to set up Johnson’s goal. 8.
Brennan Johnson – Involved early in the second half when his cut-back found Richarlison, only for the shot to be blocked. Tottenham’s top scorer came alive in the 66th minute, slipped through by Sarr, and finished coolly into the bottom corner. 7.5.
Richarlison – It was a complete centre-forward display from Richarlison in the first half, with the Brazilian not only finding the back of the net but also linking play well. His excellent performance continued after the restart, with two quick-fire chances that he was unable to convert. However, on the hour mark, he made it two with a stunning overhead kick to cap off a superb display. 9.
