Tottenham Hotspur are planning a bid for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer, according to Football Insider.
The north London club are currently preparing for the Europa League final where they will face off against Manchester United in a bid to end their 17-year trophy drought, while also looking to claim a place in next season's Champions League despite sitting in 17th place in the Premier League table.
The result of that game will undoubtedly affect the club's transfer plans for the upcoming summer window, but that hasn't stopped club chiefs planning ahead anyway and Eze has emerged as a top target.
Tottenham Preparing Bid for Eze
Playmaker has a £68m release clause
After helping the Eagles reach the FA Cup final and also scoring twice in Crystal Palace's 2-0 win over Spurs this past weekend, Eze is attracting big interest from some of the Premier League's top clubs.
A £68m release clause exists in his current contract at Selhurst Park, and according to Football Insider Tottenham are now looking to make a bid to make him cross London and switch blue and red for white. However, the club are currently planning to make an opening bid that is below that value.
While Eze is under contract until 2027, it has been reported that he has informed the club hierarchy at Palace that he is ready for a new challenge elsewhere and they won't stand in his way if they receive an acceptable offer, and GMS sources understand he is open to a move to Spurs.
Described as a "superstar" in the past, Eze is also said to be a target for Manchester United this summer - although the Red Devils are closing in on a deal for their preferred option Matheus Cunha.
It's expected to be a busy summer window at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Cristian Romero and Pedro Porro linked with exits, while Spurs are keen to strengthen their attack as Richarlison and Timo Werner are expected to leave too. Contact has been made for Lyon sensation Rayan Cherki, while it's also expected that manager Ange Postecoglou will move on regardless of the result in the final.
