Tottenham supporters could see two new young talents burst onto the scene next season.
Daniel Levy has had plenty of successes as Spurs Chairman, with the development of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium perhaps his crowning jewel in North London.
However, the 63-year-old has often been criticised for his approach toward transfers and for a lack of ready-made, experienced signings.
As a result, supporters will hope to see this trend change. However, they will perhaps make an exception for more youth as two talents look set to rise the ranks next season after signing fresh terms at Tottenham.
Tottenham to promote Junai Byfield and Luca Williams-Barnett
Junai Byfield and Luca Williams-Barnett are seen as the shining stars of Tottenham’s new generation.
MORE SPURS STORIES
The schoolboy duo both had outstanding seasons with Spurs’ Under-18s, and as reported by Lilywhite Rose (30 June), have now signed two-year scholarships with Tottenham.
Williams-Barnett’s performances have given Thomas Frank a lot to think about.
And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Williams-Barnett and Byfield will feature for the Under-21s next season, which might allow them to make an impression on Frank.
“Byfield and Williams-Barnett played with the Under-18s last year,” Wenham said.
“They were doing that even though they were still schoolboy players. Therefore, I expect them both to feature heavily for the Under-21s next season.
“They’ll be looking forward to playing in the UEFA Youth Champions League. Mikey Moore and Callum Olusesi played in that competition as 15-year-olds. Therefore, I expect Williams-Barnett and Byfield, who are a year older and outstanding prospects, to make their debuts in that competition next season.”
Frank should take a look at this dynamic duo during pre-season
It is no secret that Frank will use Spurs’ pre-season tour to take a look at several young players. After showing promise last season, Byfield and Williams-Barnett should become the newest names on his list.
Indeed, it would allow the Dane to decide how best to use them next season. Furthermore, it would be a delight for Spurs supporters to see the two in action.
Therefore, there would be no harm in having a look at both in preparation for the forthcoming season.
