Son Heung-min and Mikey Moore’s exits are set to give Tottenham ammunition to accelerate their pursuit of Rodrygo this summer.
Thomas Frank is spoilt for choice with right-wing options next season. New signing Mohammed Kudus is comfortable in that position, while Dejan Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert are all proven right wingers.
However, Tottenham are in desperate need of reinforcements on their left-hand side, and with both Son and Moore seemingly set to leave this summer, Rodrygo could be the answer to Spurs’ problems.
Son grows closer to LAFC with Moore set for Rangers loan
As reported by GIVEMESPORT (28 July), Los Angeles FC are advancing in talks to sign Tottenham captain Son.
It is understood that the Lilywhites will not stand in the way of a move, even if they are content to keep Son. The South Korean is set to undergo talks with Frank once he returns to London.
MORE SPURS STORIES
Meanwhile, it has been widely reported that Rangers have emerged as the favourite to sign Moore on loan this summer. The academy product has had interest from several Championship sides but prefers the Scottish team.
This would open the door for Tottenham to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid in the coming weeks.
His transfer to the North London club could be feasible if the Brazilian agrees on personal terms. Morgan Gibbs-White extending at Nottingham Forest means that Spurs could reinvest the £60million that was set to be spent on the midfielder in the Madrid star.
With a few weeks until the window ends and the club stacked in the midfield and defence, Tottenham could afford to splurge on another superstar signing.
Rodrygo would be a statement signing
After winning silverware for the first time in 17 years, there would be nothing like a statement signing to prove Spurs mean business.
An argument can be made that Kudus already fits the bill. But while he is not lacking in talent, the Ghanaian has not achieved anywhere near as much as Rodrygo.
Indeed, with two UEFA Champions League titles under his belt and several domestic trophies, Rodrygo knows what it takes to win at the highest level. This would be a massive boost for a Spurs team looking to win everything in the future.
Therefore, Daniel Levy could win the hearts of Tottenham fans once again if he brings Rordygo to Hotspur Way.
