Daniel Levy’s recent exit ramped up speculation that Tottenham could soon be up for sale.
Levy’s exit from Spurs was announced on 4 September, ending a near 25-year association with the North London side.
ENIC have since stated Tottenham’s not for sale, having been involved with Spurs since the late 1990s.
That stance was held both before and after news emerged last week of Brooklyn Earick’s plans to lead a £4.5billion takeover of Spurs.
While the stance of those high up at Tottenham has been reiterated numerous times, it has done little to quiet the speculation of what could be next.

Tottenham split from Rothschild & Co
It was recently reported that Tottenham were planning to split from Rothschild & Co, who became linked with Spurs in April 2024 under Levy’s watch.
According to Matt Slater of The Athletic on 30 September, that split is now official.
Spurs are said to have thanked Rothschild & Co for their services, with this move strengthening the suggestion that the Lilywhites are indeed not for sale.
Joe Lewis has cut yet another tie linking the Levy era to this new era at Spurs, with the mega-rich businessman clearly content.
British law firm Dickson Minto will continue to provide independent advice, it is reported, in the absence of Rothschild & Co.
Does Joe Lewis have any intention of selling Tottenham?
As pointed out by football finance expert Stefan Borson on X, Lewis and those high up and Spurs are giving every indication that Tottenham will not be sold.
Not only that, there does not appear to be any willingness to so much as engage with others, whether that be Earick or any other pretenders.
ENIC, which is controlled by Joe Lewis and his family, owns around 87 per cent of Spurs’ shares. The Levy trust owns roughly 26 per cent of Tottenham.
While fans will be excited by recent talk of a multi-billion-pound takeover, it seems there is no real chance of that happening anytime soon.
