Tottenham are hoping to capitalise on Man City's move to sign Antoine Semenyo by plotting a deal for his teammate.

Spurs are looking to strengthen in the January transfer window with attacking reinforcements top of Thomas Frank's list of areas to develop.

Man City have been named as Semenyo's preferred destination as the £65million release clause in his contract looks to come into effect on January 1st, meaning that a deal could be completed before too long.

That could pave the way for Spurs to sign an attacker of their own in the shape of Man City forward Omar Marmoush.

Tottenham Eye Marmoush Deal

Tottenham are pushing to sign Omar Marmoush in the January window, according to Caught Offside.

The Egyptian forward is facing an uncertain future under Pep Guardiola with Semenyo likely to head for the Etihad Stadium next month. Should that deal occur, Marmoush could drop further down the pecking order.

Hailed as 'world-class', the 26-year-old is under contract with Manchester City until the end of the 2028/29 season, earning £370,000 a week.

Since joining Man City, Marmoush has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 40 games for the club. Joining from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, he registered an impressive 37 goals and 20 assists in just 67 appearances before joining Manchester City in January 2024.

Spurs Face Battle To Snap Up Marmoush

There's no doubt that Omar Marmoush would be a top-level signing for Tottenham. Spurs are missing the presence of an elite forward and the Egyptian star would undoubtedly offer some genuine quality to Thomas Frank's forward line.

Whether they can pull off a deal, however, is very much up in the air.

Pep Guardiola is a big fan of Marmoush and while starts have been minimal this season, he's still seen as a big part of Man City's plans.

If City do pull off a deal to sign Semenyo, it could change things. The Bournemouth star can play as an out-and-out striker, while also playing off the flanks, which makes him a truly versatile option for Guardiola.

Marmoush could be available as a result, but there's no doubt that a deal would cost Tottenham a large sum having only arrived 12 months ago for a fee worth £59million.

Paying anything near that sum would be a significant outlay for Spurs and as a result, it could be tough to tempt City to sell.
