Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in a quality striker during the January transfer window.
Richarlison has done reasonably well for them, but he is not a clinical goalscorer. The Brazilian has found the back of the net just six times in all competitions this season. Tottenham need a better player leading the line for them if they want to win major trophies.
It will be interesting to see if they can find a quality striker in January. It could transform them in the attack and get their season back on track.
Can Spurs replace Richarlison?
Pete O’Rourke claims: “So, we know that Tottenham are in the market for a new number nine in January, if they’re able to bring one in, and also they’ve missed Dominic Solanke this season as well through injury. He’s hardly figured at all under Thomas Frank.
“Richarlison has stepped up, he’s done okay in places but I think Tottenham would prefer an out-and-out number nine to be playing as their main striker in the team.”
Richarlison set for exit?
Meanwhile, the Brazilian has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and Brazil in recent months. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
There is no doubt that he is a quality player, but he will not be able to lead the line for Tottenham with great success. It would make sense for him to join a club where he will get to play in his natural role. The Brazilian thrives in the role of a second striker or in the wide areas.
Tottenham need a reliable centre forward, and it will be interesting to see who they end up with.
They will be desperate to finish in the top four of the Premier League, and they need to improve in the attacking unit in order for that to happen.
