Tottenham Hotspur are ready to 'obliterate' their transfer record to sign Man City star Savinho, who is pushing to join, according to TEAMtalk.
The Lilywhites have had a dream start to the season so far with back-to-back wins in the Premier League under new manager Thomas Frank, with victories over Burnley and Manchester City.
But the boss still wants to add more forward options to his squad following the departure of Heung-Min Son and a serious knee injury to James Maddison, but after failing in moves for Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze, they have now set their sights on Savinho.
Tottenham Ready to Break Club Record for Savinho
Savinho, who has been described as "extraordinary" by Pep Guardiola, has emerged as a top target for the north London club in recent weeks.
Spurs had agreed a deal with Crystal Palace to sign Eze this week only for local rivals Arsenal to swoop in and hijack the deal, while a move for Gibbs-White was all set earlier in the summer only for the player to make a U-turn and sign a new contract with Nottingham Forest instead after a legal dispute from the club.
Now the 'elite' Brazil international has emerged as the top target for Frank, and it's understood that Spurs are willing to 'obliterate' their club-record fee to get a deal over the line.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Savinho has three goals and 13 assists in 48 appearances for Man City after joining them for £31m in July 2024.
Tottenham are determined to sign two new forwards before the September 1st deadline according to the report, but so far a deal for Savinho has been blocked by Man City chiefs.
A bid worth around £40m was swiftly rejected by the Cityzens earlier this month, but now Spurs are ready to return with a bid worth around €85m including bonuses (£73.6m) to get a deal done. That would smash their transfer record, which is currently set at £65m from the Dominic Solanke move last summer.
Savinho is said to be open to moving to north London in order to play more regularly ahead of the World Cup, and it has now emerged that he is actively pushing to make the move happen. The 21-year-old didn't play in the game between the two sides on Saturday afternoon, with Guardiola explaining his absence as an injury.
