Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to fund a deal for English wonderkid Tyler Dibling by selling Richarlison.
Dibling has been on Spurs' radar amid a breakout season at Southampton where he shined despite the South Coast outfit's relegation. His impressive form caught the eye of not only the Lilywhites but also Manchester United, Chelsea and German giants RB Leipzig.
The 19-year-old won't come cheaply though and St Mary's are holding out for £55m, a fee that is putting Daniel Levy off. The North Londoners remain keen after failing with a £35m bid in January, but not at the current price-tag unless they can make a significant sale.
Spurs To Offload Richarlison For Dibling
The Brazilian faces an uncertain future
Football Insider reports that Tottenham are hoping to negotiate a deal with Southampton for Dibling at £40-45m. He has two years left on his contract but remaining in the Premier League feels like a necessary step in his progression.
Richarlison's potential departure could help facilitate a deal for Dibling at the Saints' value and it would bring an end to a difficult spell in North London for the Brazilian. He arrived from Everton in the summer of 2022 for £60m but has failed to reach expectations.
David Moyes recently downplayed links to the 28-year-old, who purportedly earns £130,000 per week, suggesting a reunion with the Toffees may not be on the cards. He could instead head to the Saudi Pro League, and he's reportedly keen, although a return to Brazil isn't likely.
Spurs would be expected to replace Richarlison despite his inconsistent spells in Ange Postecoglou's first team. Dibling, dubbed "special", fits the club's transfer strategy "perfectly" and there is the chance for him to learn from experienced forwards such as Son Heung-min, who is staying with the club.
The six-cap England U19 international is familiar with London from his early youth career, having spent time in Chelsea's academy based in Cobham. Levy is personally pushing for the English starlet, and he'd be a similar acquisition to that of Archie Grey, 19, and Lucas Bergvall, 19, who arrived last year.
