Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in signing the Manchester City attacker Savinho during the January window.

According to TEAMtalk, most of their top targets have snubbed the opportunity to join the north London club, and they have now decided to reignite their interest in the Brazilian.

They wanted to sign the player at the start of the season. Savinho has not been a regular starter for Manchester City, but he could be a very useful acquisition for Spurs.

Savinho needs game time

He has been labelled as an “incredible” player by Guardiola in the past. There is no doubt that he’s good enough to start every week for Manchester City. The Premier League giants are closing in on a move for Antoine Semenyo, and that will push the Brazilian further down the pecking order. It would make sense for him to leave the club in January so that he can play more often. Tottenham could provide him with regular opportunities.

With the World Cup coming up next year, he will want to cement his place in the Brazilian national team. He needs regular gametime in order for that to happen. Sitting on the bench will not benefit him.

Spurs could use Savinho

They need more quality in the final third, and the South American will add pace, flair and unpredictability to the side. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can succeed in their efforts to get the deal done.

They have been quite inconsistent in recent weeks, and they need to improve if they want to secure a top-four finish and fight for trophies. Savinho is a young player with a lot of potential, and he could develop into a future star. Regular football at Tottenham could bring out the best in him.
