Tottenham Hotspur have made plans to improve the atmosphere at an upcoming home match, but it is an idea which has failed in the past.
Tottenham Hotspur are known to have a good following, and their fans usually make themselves heard when the club are playing away from home.
However, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium possesses one of the worst atmospheres in the Premier League, a problem which has persisted since the ground first opened in 2019.
Spurs have created singing sections in the past in a bid to generate more noise, but these have largely been unsuccessful due to half-hearted efforts from the club.
Tottenham return to singing section concept for Aston Villa fixture
Spurs are set to take on Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup, and there has already been a statement of intent by the club to improve the atmosphere. The category pricing has been scrapped ahead of the match, and it will cost an adult just £30 to attend.
As well as this, Tottenham and the Fan Advisory Board will trial another singing section in the South Stand, if operationally possible. The club will liaise with FAB member Jonny Tindal, who founded the Return of the Shelf initiative in hopes of improving the atmosphere on matchdays.
Season ticket holders who wish to join the singing section can request to be moved to the South Lower area and can purchase any seats which have not been taken up by those who are usually situated there.

Spurs must continue working with supporters
The only way the atmosphere at Tottenham is going to improve is by collaboration between the club and their fans.
Those who wish to be vocal during matches need to be able to stand together, or else creating an atmosphere becomes almost impossible.
It is good to see Spurs are revisiting the singing section concept, and this must become a priority going forward to ensure the players feel the support from the stands.
