Daniel Levy will shock fans once again now that Tottenham have entered the race to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer.

Tottenham have made it no secret that they are in the market for a centre-forward after another disappointing season from Richarlison.

A return to Everton could be on the cards for the Brazilian now that Calvert-Lewin has announced his departure. And Spurs could look to recruit the Englishman to fill the hole Richarlison will leave in his wake.

Manchester United to make ‘shock move’ for Calvert-Lewin

Tottenham could be beaten to the signature of Calvert-Lewin by fellow Premier League team Manchester United.

This would not be the first time the Red Devils have bested Spurs this summer, with target Bryan Mbeumo favouring a move to Old Trafford.

MORE SPURS STORIES

According to The Sun on Saturday (5 July), United could make a “shock move” to sign Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer. It is understood that Ruben Amorim’s side reached out to the ex-Toffees frontman about moving from Merseyside to Manchester.

However, Tottenham are still in the running as BetVictor have them at 20/1 to sign Calvert-Lewin at Hotspur Way. While United have pulled in front with a 7/2 chance of signing him.

This could be a good market opportunity with the striker able to lead the front line but also operate as a backup option if required.

However, it may be difficult to convince Spurs supporters to replace one injury-prone striker with another one.

Tottenham should sell Richarlison if the opportunity arises

Richarlison was signed by Tottenham as one of the rising stars of the Premier League, but has struggled to live up to expectations.

Indeed, the striker has been on the receiving end of several injuries that have prevented him from reaching his best form. Last season, the Brazilian contributed to seven goals in 24 appearances – a sharp decline from his output the season prior.

As a result, a departure could be the best outcome for all involved. The 28-year-old has been linked to several clubs in England, but is more likely to move abroad as of right now.

This would suit Tottenham fans quite well, who have developed a fondness for him over the years.

It would be difficult to see Richarlison leave the club he holds close to his heart, but if a suitable offer comes in, Levy must pounce.
