Davide Frattesi could move to the Premier League this summer, with Tottenham keen.

Thomas Frank will have been fully aware of the task that awaits him at Spurs, though he may not have anticipated such little transfer movement.

Aside from the permanent additions of Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso, Tottenham have been sleepwalking this summer, and they simply cannot afford to do so.

Frank needs to be backed in the transfer market, and as per the latest update on Inter midfielder Frattesi, an incredible opening has now emerged.

Inter could sanction a discounted exit for Frattesi

Singing attacking quality will perhaps be the priority for Tottenham this summer, though they cannot allow that to distract them from the potential opportunities of bolstering their squad elsewhere.

MORE SPURS STORIES

There isn’t an area that can’t be improved for Frank, and signing another midfielder to rotate with those currently in North London would be a smart move, and the Lilywhites may now have the chance to do that.

As reported by Caught Offside (1 July), Spurs are eying a move to sign Inter and Italy midfielder Frattesi, who has also attracted attention from Manchester United.

The 25-year-old’s initial asking price is said to have been around £43million, though that has since dropped to £30m, and Spurs could look to take full advantage.

Levy needs to show some ambition at Tottenham

Tottenham have already missed out on some big signings this summer, and Daniel Levy’s reluctance to invest is largely the reason behind that.

That certainly needs to change if Spurs are to show any sign of progression next season, as well as having any chance at competing in the UEFA Champions League.

Players like Frattesi don’t come cheap, though an opportunity like this cannot be passed up on if there is genuine ambition at the top of the club.

Only time will tell how serious Tottenham are about making progress, with a huge few weeks ahead.
