Tottenham could be set for a transfer battle in the coming months as they look to sign one of Troy Parrott’s most talented teammates.

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the few sides to have featured in last season’s Europa League and this year’s edition of the Champions League.

During their journey in Europe last campaign, they came up against a handful of opponents, including AZ Alkmaar.

Spurs were victorious over the Dutch side not only in the league phase but also in the knockout stages, effectively knocking them out.

However, the two sides could now be looking to do business in the coming months.

Tottenham and Crystal Palace both interested in Sven Mijnans

This is according to Sports Boom, who claim that Tottenham are looking to improve their midfield in the summer window and have identified one of Troy Parrott’s team-mates as a target.

Sven Mijnans is the player who has caught the attention of Spurs, with the club said to have sent scouts to watch him in action.

However, Tottenham are not set to have a free run at the attacking midfielder, with Crystal Palace also reported to be interested.

Spurs weigh Sven Mijnans value after strong AZ Alkmaar displays

Tottenham, alongside their Premier League rivals, are believed to be structuring comprehensive packages to sign the player at the end of the season.

€30 million (£26 million) has been quoted as the player’s value, and it is understood that convincing Mijnans to leave Alkmaar will not be difficult.

The player is seen as a “high-value, low-risk” investment, and he has managed 24 goal involvements – 16 goals and 8 assists – this season.

Last season, Mijnans did feature against Spurs when the two sides met in October during the league phase of the Europa League.
