Tottenham Hotspur are set to make an opening bid to sign Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze ahead of Arsenal, according to GIVEMESPORT correspondent Ben Jacobs.

Thomas Frank's side have had a strong summer window with the additions of Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha, but they are keen to add to their attacking options following the departure of captain Heung-Min Son and a serious knee injury to James Maddison.

The club have revisited their interest in Eze since that injury to Maddison, and are now ready to table their opening formal bid for the England international.

Tottenham Set to Bid for Eze

Eze, who has been described as a "superstar", had been expected to leave Selhurst Park this summer after scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final for the Eagles last season, earning them the first major trophy in their history.

The player has a release clause worth £60m plus a further £8m in add-ons, which is set to expire on Friday, but so far nobody has tabled an offer to trigger that or bid anything that has convinced Palace to part ways with their star man.

But now Spurs are ready to test their resolve by placing a formal offer, as they look to act quickly to beat their local rivals to the deal.

While Eze has been strongly linked to Arsenal all summer, it's believed that the forward is also open to joining Tottenham this summer as they have Champions League football, and it's understood that personal terms are not expected to be an issue either. GIVEMESPORT sources also understand that Thomas Frank has given his green light for the deal.

Spurs' new push for the player has come since Maddison was ruled out for the majority of the 2025/26 season after rupturing his ACL during a pre-season friendly with Newcastle, while a move for Morgan Gibbs-White collapsed after legal trouble with Nottingham Forest ended with the player signing a new deal at the City Ground.
