Tottenham are expected to remain busy in the January market following an agreement to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher.

According to reports, the North London side are expected to complete ‘at least one other significant’ signing, as they aim to further boost Thomas Frank’s depleted squad.

Spurs agreed a deal for promising Santos full-back Souza last week and reached an agreement over Gallagher’s arrival on Monday, with the former Chelsea midfielder set to join for £35m.

Gallagher is set to pen a five-and-a-half-year contract with Tottenham after snubbing interest from Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

Tottenham Eyeing Another January Signing

According to journalist Dean Jones, Tottenham’s move for Gallagher is a ‘sign of things to come’ in North London, as Spurs are anticipated to continue targeting further reinforcements in January.

Tottenham have been playing with a depleted squad for much of the season so far, with injured Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison yet to feature under Frank.

While Maddison is expected to miss the rest of the campaign with an ACL injury, Kulusevski is anticipated to return before the season ends after suffering a patella problem in April.

Tottenham have also been without injured Destiny Udogie, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Bergvall in recent games, while midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is set to undergo surgery after injuring his hamstring in the 3-2 loss to Bournemouth.

Spurs also saw Richarlison limp off with a hamstring problem in their 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Paris FC Make Mathys Tel Approach

Tottenham winger Mathys Tel is the subject of interest from several clubs amid his limited involvement under Frank this season.

According to GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano, Ligue 1 side Paris FC have submitted an approach for the Frenchman, who is open to departing North London this month in search of regular playing time.

Tottenham are unwilling to let the winger leave amid injuries to Kulusevski, Bergvall and Kudus, despite Tel making just five Premier League starts this season.

The forward started Tottenham’s last three games in all competitions and found the back of the net in the 3-2 loss to Bournemouth.
