A journalist has now made a very interesting claim about a European giant’s interest in a senior Tottenham Hotspur star.

One senior Spurs star, who is part of Tottenham’s leadership group under Thomas Frank, has come under a lot of fire of late.

Guglielmo Vicario was booed continuously by Spurs fans for his mistake against Fulham last week, and it has been suggested that the goalkeeper is now looking to leave the North London club.

This is according to recent reports from Italy, which have claimed that Vicario’s representatives are in talks with Inter Milan over a move to the San Siro.

Journalist claims Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is ready for Inter Milan

Journalist Enzo Bucchioni has now suggested that the former Empoli man has improved since his move to North London two and a half years ago, and that he is ready to take over the gloves from Inter’s current number one, Yann Sommer.

He confirmed that the Nerazzurri have made an approach for the 29-year-old, suggesting that it may be because Vicario wants to return to Italy.

Bucchioni told Tuttomercatoweb Radio (as relayed by FCInter1908) about Vicario: “Since he went to England, his performance has improved. He’s matured as a goalkeeper. In England, the level of play in the penalty area is worse than in Italy, and the goalkeeper also has to compete with giants.

“Maybe he wants to return to Italy, because his performance has always been above average, he’s brought a lot of confidence to the team. I think he wants to come back, and that’s why Inter have made an approach.”

“It’s his reactivity that impresses me, he could be a young Sommer, with more reactivity. He’s ready to take over the Inter starting shirt.”

Spurs have started looking for Vicario’s replacement

Thomas Frank has insisted that Vicario will remain his number one, backing the goalkeeper to recover from his mistake against the Cottagers.

However, reports indicate that Tottenham have already started looking at options to replace Vicario, with Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen thought to be on their radar.
