Tottenham are set to be active on transfer deadline day, both in terms of incomings and departures with midfielder Pape Matar Sarr poised to join Italian giants Juventus
Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr was rushed for his medical examinations in Turin last night ahead of sealing a switch to Italian giants Juventus.
Roberto De Zerbi confirmed on Saturday following the 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle that the Senegal international was one of three players to have requested exits.
Richarlison, whose future remains up in the air, and centre-back Kevin Danso had also asked to depart with the Austrian on course to sign in at Sunderland on an initial loan.
Sarr, providing there are no late hitches, is set to join Juve on an initial loan that includes a £23.13million (€27m) buy-option next summer.

Spurs are also expected to bank a £2.6m (€3m) loan fee for the 23-year-old, who mustered just 87 minutes in pre-season on the back of his involvement at the World Cup with Senegal.
A host of clubs had shown interest in the dynamic maestro including Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Everton, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Al-Ahli.
However, it's Juventus that are on course to secure his signature before tonight's deadline. The player was pictured arriving at Caselle Airport in Turin last night before heading straight for his medical checks.
As ever, clubs are always mindful that medicals and paperwork hitches could disrupt a deal this late in the day but the club-to-club agreement is all in place with Tottenham.
Sarr, who already has 42 caps for Senegal, arrived at Spurs in August 2021 but he was loaned back to Metz for the remainder of the season before later making his debut in January 2023 against Aston Villa.
He earned a new contract the following January following a bright start to life under Ange Postecoglou, scoring in a 2-0 home win over Manchester United in August 2023.
The athletic box-to-box midfielder was also a key part of the Spurs side that won the Europa League in the 2024-25 season and he provided the trophy-clinching assist for Brennan Johnson in Bilbao.
There is still a chance he could return to Tottenham next summer, providing Juventus are not willing to trigger their buy-option. In years gone by, the Italians have attempted to re-negotiate a cheaper price after signing players on initial loans.
Spurs shook hands on the deal under the expectation that a permanent transfer is very much possible.
De Zerbi was unable to provide Sarr with assurances of regular minutes in N17 this term following the signings of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
