A Tottenham man, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer, has reacted very emotionally after winning the Europa League and he sent a big hint about his future.
The host of injuries Tottenham Hotspur have had and the various setbacks they have suffered over the course of the campaign have made the Europa League success even sweeter.
One could see from the celebrations since last Wednesday just what this victory means to the current Spurs squad, who have had to endure intense criticism for much of the season.
Arguably, no player has endured as difficult a time as Richarlison, who once again had another injury-hit campaign, which looked in danger of fizzling out, but the forward managed to recover for the final run-in and delivered crucial performances in the semifinals and the finals.
Richarlison opens up on injury struggles and Tottenham trophy success
Richarlison has now opened up on the dark moments he was going through earlier this season when he was trying to recover from one injury setback after another.
The former Everton man confessed that at times, it was difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and thanked his teammates, the staff and the fans for sticking by him.
Some reports over recent days have suggested that Richarlison is expected to leave Spurs this summer, but the striker has now admitted that he wants to stay and win more trophies at N17.

Richarlison’s Instagram post reads: “When this season started, all I wanted was to be healthy to help my team have a better year. I knew it would be important to me mentally and also to finally repay somehow the love I’ve received these past few years from Spurs fans and all those who cheer me on.
“Nobody said it would be easy, but they also didn’t imagine it would be this hard. There were days and nights of much anxiety, treatments, pain and a martyr that seemed to have no end. But there was! And it was when I returned to Brazil, for a week, in February, after another injury, that things started to change.”
The Tottenham star continued: “Being around mine in those days changed a lot for me. Had me feeling like old ‘Charlin, the kid who just wanted to play ball. Being in the field has always been therapeutic for me, even before I discovered the power of therapy. It’s my best medicine and the one that cures almost all my problems.
“And it was like that, playing ball without fear, without fear until my legs could no longer take fatigue and cramping that I left the field on Wednesday. With a trophy in hands, heart full of joy and with my team, so discredited during the season, champion!
“Thank you to everyone who has been by my side and been part of this very special moment, always believing and encouraging me even in the most difficult moments. Thank you to Tottenham – management, players, technical committee, staff – and my whole staff – for making it happen together! And we’re going for more!”
Is Richarlison likely to leave Spurs this summer?
A couple of weeks ago, Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte claimed that Richarlison wants to stay at Tottenham as he feels that would give him the best chance of getting into the Selecao squad for next year’s World Cup.
However, just a few days ago, TRB Football asserted that Richarlison remains undecided on his future as the summer transfer window approaches.
The outlet explained that the striker is currently assessing his options and seeks more consistent game time and a clearer role heading into the 2025/26 campaign.
