Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski has come in for huge praise from his Sweden international teammates for his gesture during the international break.

Kulusevski has been out of action with a knee injury since the start of May, which saw him miss the Europa League final.

The Swede has also missed the entirety of pre-season, with Thomas Frank and his coaching staff yet to get their first look at him in the training pitch.

According to reports, Kulusevski is not expected to be back in action until December, but the 25-year-old made a great gesture despite being on the treatment table.

Despite not being able to train or play, Kulusevski joined up with the Swedish squad ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Kosovo.

The Tottenham Hotspur man made the trip to show his support to the side, and the meaningfulness of his gesture is not lost on his teammates.

When asked about Kulusevski’s decision to join the camp, Sweden winger Ken Sema told Fotboll Skanalen: “This shows that he is an incredible leader. It means a lot. He comes in with energy, is very playful and gives us a lot of positive things. Then he is a close friend of mine. So, it means a lot to us.

Centre-back Hjalmar Ekdal also showered praise on the Spurs man for deciding to travel to support the team.

The Burnley man said about the attacking midfielder’s decision: “It’s big, actually. That says a lot about his character. He is here as a leader, but of course as one of the players.

“It means a lot. It means he has a lot of commitment and that he is passionate about this. A good captain’s job.”
