Tottenham are set to step up their plans to sack Igor Tudor after their defeat against Nottingham Forest, with it being the 'perfect' opportunity to sack him, according to Football Insider.

There was growing optimism surrounding Spurs heading into their game against Forest at the weekend after they impressed against Liverpool in the Premier League, before once again showing improvement against Atletico Madrid.

Unfortunately for them, they reverted to their previous level of performance against Forest, suffering a humiliating 3-0 defeat on their own turf.

Tottenham sit just one point above the relegation zone, as they did heading into the weekend's game, due to West Ham also losing.

Nottingham Forest have, however, climbed above them, meaning it could turn into a two-horse race pretty soon.

Tottenham Make Igor Tudor Sack Plans

According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham are accelerating plans to appoint a new manager after their latest defeat at home to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, severely denting their chances of survival.

Spurs see it as the 'perfect' opportunity to bring in a new manager due to the international break approaching, giving a new coach time to settle in and implement his ideas.

Tottenham had hoped that Tudor was the right man to turn things around in north London, but they could now be forced into finding a new manager earlier than they expected.

Under Tudor's tutelage, Spurs have won just once, beating Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League tie, but with the Spanish giants already having a comfortable lead from the first leg, it was an almost meaningless victory.

Tudor Not the Only One to Blame at Tottenham

Jamie O'Hara claimed during Tottenham's defeat at Nottingham Forest that Tudor is the worst appointment in their history, but he isn't the only one to blame.

The former Tottenham midfielder also demanded that Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange should be sacked immediately, alongside Tudor.

It's hard to disagree with O'Hara, as Tudor certainly isn't the one to blame for Spurs being in this position. The north London club were battling towards the relegation zone before his arrival, while they finished 17th in the Premier League last season as well.

The problems run deeper at Tottenham, but it's always the manager who takes most of the blame.
