Tottenham could soon complete their first sale of the summer as a fresh report has revealed that Rosaria Central have begun talks over a deal for a striker, who is thought to be surplus to requirements in N17.
Sergio Reguilon, Fraser Forster and Alfie Whiteman have exited Spurs after their deals ran out, while Timo Werner has also said goodbye to the Lilywhites after his loan spell came to an end.
Over the last week, plenty of outlets have suggested that Rosaria Central are eyeing an opportunity to re-sign Alejo Veliz, two years on from selling the striker to Tottenham Hotspur.
River Plate and Boca Juniors are also on Veliz’s trail, with the Argentine giants undeterred by the striker’s struggles on loan at Sevilla and Espanyol.
According to La Capital, it is the 21-year-old’s former club who are at the front of the queue to land the forward and they are now making progress in their efforts.
The outlet says that Rosaria Central have begun talks with Spurs over a deal, with the negotiations currently ongoing.
In fact, they claim to have heard from a ‘high-ranking source’ that a contract offer has already been made to Veliz ahead of a potential return to the club.

Rosaria are keen to add the striker to their squad after completing a deal to sign Angel Maria, but it is made clear that as things stand, they are yet to reach an agreement with the Premier League side.
Why Rosaria Central are optimistic about Veliz deal
La Capital point out that even though the centre-forward’s contract in North London runs until 2029, he does not appear to be part of Tottenham’s plans going forward after his struggles out on loan.
Rosario believes that Spurs are open to selling Veliz and are confident that the negotiations can be concluded positively.
It is explained that the Argentine club would ideally prefer an initial loan deal and there is some willingness on the part of Tottenham to sanction such a deal, but the publication does not say if there is likely to be an option or obligation to buy attached.
