One English striker who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur has made an admission about Harry Kane that might spell good news for the Lilywhites.

Reports have indicated that Richarlison could be on his way out of Tottenham this summer, which is why the North London club could decide to enter the market for a number nine to share the burden with Dominic Solanke.

It has been claimed by a number of outlets over recent months that Spurs are big fans of Liam Delap, who is having an impressive first season at Ipswich, having found the back of the net 10 times in the Premier League so far.

Some sources have even alleged that Tottenham are confident of beating Chelsea and others to Delap’s signature, with Ange Postecoglou alleged to have green-lit the signing of the 22-year-old.

Liam Delap makes Harry Kane admission

Delap has been called up to England’s Under-21 squad and the young striker had a chance to join in with the senior squad in training at St George’s Park this week.

The Ipswich man confessed that he has looked up to Tottenham’s record goalscorer for a long time and admitted to being in awe of the England captain’s finishing in training.

Delap said about Kane: “He’s someone I’ve looked up to for ages. He’s got everything. He’s had the most amazing career and he’s still flying. To watch him live is an incredible experience.

“I had a little chat with him, he’s a really nice guy. I watched him enough in the shooting drill to take so much from him and he’s just incredible. Just everything goes in. It’s the best I’ve seen.”

Tottenham will be delighted to hear Delap’s admission

The news that Delap idolises Harry Kane may come as a potential boost to Tottenham’s pursuit of the young forward.

The Ipswich man may find it difficult to turn down the chance to carry on the 31-year-old’s legacy at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by making the switch to North London.

However, with the Tractor Boys looking destined to go down, Spurs may have to contend with an intense transfer battle for Delap’s signature this summer.
