Tottenham have tabled an £85m offer to sign Manchester City forward Savinho, according to a report.
The north London club have made adding to their attack a priority in the final weeks of the window, having already spent over £230m to bring in Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke, while they have also signed Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka on free transfers.
But Roberto De Zerbi has made it clear that he feels the team needs more, describing their business as only being 60% done so far, and now the club have made their move to bring in their top attacking target.
According to a report by Brazilian outlet GE Globo, Tottenham have now tabled a huge £85m offer to sign Brazil international Savinho after he made it clear to Man City that he wants to leave.
The 22-year-old skipped training on Thursday, with reports from Man City stating he was ill, but Fabrizio Romano has reported that he once again informed the club hierarchy of his desire to leave this summer, with Spurs his preferred destination.
The winger is keen to be a more regular first-team player at his next club, and he believes that Tottenham would be the perfect place to continue his development, working under De Zerbi in the process.
Talks over a deal have stalled in recent weeks, but it's understood that the new bid from Tottenham matches the value that the Cityzens have put on the player since the start of negotiations.
Savinho was upset that a lack of regular minutes at Man City last season cost him a potential place in Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil squad for the World Cup, and all parties are now confident that a deal will be completed.
Guardiola Feels Savinho is 'Extraordinary'
Spurs were close to signing Savinho last summer before Pep Guardiola blocked the move, and convinced the player to sign a new long-term contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking after the Community Shield, Guardiola heaped praise on the young forward, calling him 'extraordinary'.
"If they want to leave, they will come to me. If they want to leave, they will knock on my door. Whether it's Tottenham in that case or any other club, a player should call the club.
"I am only concerned right now that Savinho will be with us for the rest of the season and hopefully many years, because of the potential he has at 21. He has to improve in final positions but he is an extraordinary player.
"At the end, as always, the desire of the players is above everything but then they have to find an agreement with the club. If they don't make an agreement, the player will be here because the club spends money on those players."
He was also previously hugely excited about the prospect of working with the former Girona man, and was full of hope about his potential.
“Last season he started well and then played a little less because of my reasons but he is a player with incredible potential," he said.
“We cannot forget he is so young. He needs to make more decisive actions in the final third. The moment he makes this step and says he wants to be the player that is decisive, he will be an extraordinary player.”
