Tottenham Hotspur could look to get a deal over the line for Marseille and France midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports - with the Les Bleus star having an uncertain future at the Ligue 1 side, amid a bust-up at the Stade Velodrome in recent weeks.

Tottenham were thwarted in their bid to sign Eberechi Eze by local rivals Arsenal over the weekend, with the Gunners having hijacked a deal for the Crystal Palace star - and that has left Tottenham in the market for a new midfielder, with Rabiot perhaps coming into that role after 'contact' between the Lilywhites and his entourage.

The report by journalist Fabrice Hawkins on X (formerly Twitter) states that Rabiot is of interest to AC Milan, who are in talks with his entourage over a potential move - but Tottenham are also in that same boat at present, and they could look to prise the French midfielder to the Premier League for the first time in Rabiot's career.

The former Paris Saint-Germain youngster left his hometown side in 2019, having made 227 appearances for the club in all competitions, joining Juventus as a result - where he made another 212 outings for the Serie A giants over a five-year spell.

Now plying his trade at Marseille, Rabiot started their first game of the campaign, a 1-0 loss to Rennes away from home - but came under controversy in recent days after a reported fight with teammate Jonathan Rowe after their defeat to the Brittany-based outfit.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Adrien Rabiot has six goals in 53 caps for France.

That left the duo suspended and transfer-listed, with Rowe joining Bologna - and although manager Roberto De Zerbi will want to keep the 'elite' France international, Spurs showing interest in improving their midfield ranks means that Rabiot could finally be on his way to the Premier League.

Marseille have yet to be contacted by any of the interested clubs at present, but that could change in the near future if Spurs' talks with his entourage become positive enough for a move to be made.

Spurs already have a number of first-team midfielders in their side in the form of Joao Palhinha, Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, Archie Gray, Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Bergvall in their ranks - however, Maddison has suffered an injury that will keep him out for the majority of the campaign, and with Bissouma being linked for a move away to Galatasaray, that could see Rabiot replace them with much-needed experience in what is a young midfield, alongside the potential arrival of Manchester City starlet Savinho.
