Tottenham have been informed that a £47.5m deal could be there for the taking if Manchester City refuse to part ways with Savinho this week.

Tottenham Hotspur are yet to receive a breakthrough in their pursuit of Manchester City winger Savinho, a name that has been on their radar in recent weeks.

Spurs have so far seen their offers for Savinho rejected by the Citizens, who are holding out for a £70million valuation of the Brazilian winger.

However, with only a few days left before the summer window slams shut and City unwilling to budge on their asking price for the 21-year-old, Spurs could be tempted to look elsewhere to strengthen their wide options.

Tottenham told Maghnes Akliouche offer would likely be accepted

A report from Football Insider now claims that one of Tottenham’s alternative targets, Maghnes Akliouche, could very much be on his way out of Monaco.

It is believed that the French side will now accept a bid of around £47.5million for the 23-year-old, who has registered 13 goals and 14 assists in his Ligue 1 career so far.

With the winger said to be available for £47.5million, a substantial amount lower than Savinho’s asking price, it remains to be seen if Spurs make a move for Akliouche in the coming days.

Speaking to Football Insider about the winger, Pete O’Rourke said: “The one that seems to be catching their eye is the Monaco star, Maghnes Akliouche. He is a very talented young player, and could be available for around £47.5million.

“He is a top young player, 23 years old, probably one of the most exciting young talents in Ligue 1 right now – he can play as a winger, or as a number 10 as well.

“If Tottenham are not able to resurrect their deal for Savinho, Akliouche would be a decent alternative, and it does seem that Monaco would sell at the right price.”

Why Maghnes Akliouche could suit Tottenham

The young Frenchman, who has been making a name for himself in Ligue 1, could very much be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham, who are also in need of a number ten.

Spurs are currently without James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, who are both sidelined for extended periods, leaving Tottenham thin in the attacking midfield department.
