One of Tottenham Hotspur’s top attacking targets has just seen his asking price reduced.
Thomas Frank is keen to add to his attacking options at Tottenham this summer and is assessing several different targets.
The North London club have been working on a deal to sign Morgan Gibbs-White, although that deal is currently being blocked by Nottingham Forest.
The Lilywhites could soon be forced to move on from the England international at some stage, which is why other players are being targeted.
Manchester United now want £40 million for Alejandro Garnacho
TBR Football understands that Alejandro Garnacho is keen to stay in the Premier League, and several English clubs are interested in signing him.
The Argentine international is open to working with Unai Emery at Aston Villa, while Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are also monitoring his situation.
Manchester United have now lowered their asking price for Garnacho to £40 million, according to The Telegraph.
Back in January, TBR Football revealed that Tottenham had asked about Garnacho and have held a long-standing interest in signing the forward.
At the time, the Red Devils wanted around £70 million for the attacker, but now that asking price has significantly reduced.
At £40 million, the potential gamble on Garnacho, who was called ‘special’, is suddenly lowered significantly, and one club will surely be willing to take the plunge.
Tottenham could be the perfect destination for Alejandro Garnacho
Tottenham could hold a trump card to sign Garnacho due to Justin Cochrane, who used to coach the 21-year-old during his time at Old Trafford.
Cochrane, who is now Frank’s assistant at Spurs, was head of player development at Man United, and Garnacho was one of the players he worked with.
Frank also has an excellent track record for developing attacking talent, having improved the likes of Ollie Watkins, Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa.
Garnacho’s talent is undeniable, but there might be question marks raised over his application, something which Cochrane and Frank could help fix.
When the youngster is at his best, he can without doubt be one of the best wingers in the Premier League and with the right setup, he could flourish.
