Welcome to football.london's Tottenham transfer news live blog.

Tottenham have endured a torrid start to the season despite splurging around £380million on eight first-team signings. Roberto De Zerbi has been backed by the club this summer, yet on-pitch performances in Spurs' opening two Premier League games have left plenty to be desired.

Having lost 3-0 at Brentford on the opening day of the season, the Lilywhite's plethora of new arrivals failed to prevent the 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle on Saturday evening. And De Zerbi's men now sit bottom of the table, as if little progress has been made since two seasons ago.

Spurs had recently announced the arrival of Manchester City duo Savio and Omar Marmoush, signing the former for £75m before announcing Marmoush's arrival this week on a loan deal and a £50m plus £10m obligation to buy.

They were then keen to end their summer spending by bringing in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, who snubbed the north Londoners on Saturday in favour of a move to Manchester City.

There has also been plenty of talk surrounding departures, with Kevin Danso and Pape Matar Sarr wanting to leave, while late interest has emerged in youngster Archie Gray. Stick with our live blog to stay up to date on all the latest murmurs around Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
