One deal that is nearing completion is Tottenham's purchase of Savinho.
It is expected that the Brazilian will soon become a member of De Zerbi's squad, but will he be ready in time for Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash against Charlton?
Some had hoped that Savinho would be ready for Brentford, but that was pretty outlandish, as he would have had to have been registered by 12pm on Friday.
For League Cup matches, the registration deadline is the same: 12pm the day before the game. Therefore, if Savinho is to play against Charlton, everything must be signed by noon on Tuesday.
Despite a handful of reports over the weekend claiming that a loan deal with a £50m conditional buy option between Spurs and Manchester City for Marmoush had been reached, these have now been challenged.
The Standard claims that talks are continuing between the two parties and that no agreement has been reached as of Monday. That'd scupper any hopes of a Monday medical.
Marmoush is, as reported, going to join Spurs from City on an initial loan deal, so where does that leave him in terms of playing against his parent club this season?
Tottenham will face City a minimum of two times this term and for those league games, Marmoush will not be able to play. The Premier League has a mandatory rule that prevents loanees from facing their parent club. No clause can override this.
However, if they are to meet in either the FA Cup or the Carabao Cup, Spurs would need to obtain explicit written permission for him to feature, which, if it's towards the tail end of the tournament, would be unlikely.
It's not like we'd need him against that lot anyway, right?
Mikey Moore was thrown into the fray against Brentford and caught some flak. But the 19-year-old could be bound for Germany with his Koln move seemingly not off.
The teenager was all set to join the German side, but with a lack of reinforcements in wide positions, he has stayed put.
However, Koln's sporting chief Thomas Kessler recently said, as per Express.de: "One or two rumours that have been doing the rounds for a very long time are at least not entirely wrong.
"And it could also be that major transfers in the Premier League have a direct impact on our squad planning. But we'll see."
This could hint at the arrivals of Savinho and Marmoush, which would ultimately allow for Moore to leave on loan. He spent last season with the Rangers and earned plaudits for his performances.
With Marmoush's arrival now imminent, let's take a look at what squad number he could be given by Tottenham.
The No. 7, which he has worn since the 2023/24 season with Frankfurt and at Manchester City, is off the table. The striken Xavi Simons is Spurs' seven.
Before the seven, Marmoush wore the No. 33 at Wolfsburg. And although it is an unusual number, it is taken by Ben Davies.
The most likely option, then, given it was the number Marmoush had at Stuttgart in the 2021/22 season, is the No. 17. This was last worn by none other than Cristian Romero before his Atletico Madrid departure.
Another option could be the No. 22 - Marmoush wore this during the 2020/21 season for St. Pauli.
All of Tottenham's new attacking recruits should give James Maddison more options to gel with up top.
But The Telegraph is reporting that the Englishman received treatment after he sustained a knock in Spurs' 3-0 Brentford defeat.
Maddison fell awkwardly on his shoulder after a coming together, but it is hoped he'll be fit for the weekend's clash with Newcastle.
He missed almost the entirety of last season after picking up a serious knee injury in pre-season against the Magpies.
Chelsea and Tottenham rarely do business, but earlier in the window, the wantaway Nicolas Jackson was linked with a move from the west to the north.
However, the reports were unfounded and Fabrizio Romano now claims that the Senegalese striker is set to leave on a permanent deal, with Aston Villa in daily contact.
Atletico Madrid are also an interested party, though Spurs aren't named.
Before Spurs target Gakpo's heroics against Newcastle, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola was asked about the player and didn't entirely rule out an exit.
"Cody is performing really well. I think he has been training very well from the first day and understanding everything we need from his position," he said.
"When you talk to him, you can feel that he understands the game and he is very smart. He has been one of our best players in the friendlies and performing very well."
In the exits department, reports out of Turkey suggest Galatasaray are upping their approach for Pape Matar Sarr.
The midfielder, valued at around £30m, has fallen down the pecking order in N17 and has been linked with a transfer away.
Sky Sports News rubbished any claims that an agreement had been reached with Galatasaray last week, but fresh reports claim that personal terms have been agreed. Time will tell whether the Senegalese star departs.
Another attacking target Tottenham are understood to be interested in, in addition to Marmoush and Savinho, is Liverpool's Cody Gakpo.
The Dutchman has proven rather prolific for the Reds and scored their first goal of the new Premier League season against Newcastle on Sunday. He was also on target in pre-season.
A deal in excess of £70m has been mooted, though Liverpool are standing firm in the reported stance that they will not sell unless they bring in a new signing or two.
But Spurs received a boost on Sunday when their priority target, Bradley Barcola, was left out of PSG's squad for their clash with Rennes. An exit could be on the cards, freeing up Gakpo for the free-spending Spurs to pounce...
