Thomas Frank is preparing to face the media for the first time as Tottenham manager.
Frank’s first press conference is just two days away ahead of their opening pre-season fixture against Reading on Saturday, 19 July.
The Dane will expect plenty of questions surrounding the futures of players like Son Heung-min, and the latest updates on the situation surrounding Morgan Gibbs-White.
Frank will hope to have only positive news to report, and potentially more arrivals to talk about as Tottenham News brings you the latest transfer updates from N17.
Palmeiras looking to sign Richarlison
Palmeiras are looking to sign Richarlison this summer following their exploits in the Club World Cup, which have significantly boosted their finances.
MORE SPURS STORIES
The Brazilian outfit are not put off by Tottenham’s hefty price tag for the forward, and are expected to make a concerted effort to sign the 28-year-old.
Richarlison has been deemed surplus to requirements at Spurs as he has been plagued with injuries since joining Tottenham, managing just four Premier League starts last season.
The striker is content at Hotspur Way, and rejected a move to Saudi Arabia last summer to stay in North London and fight for his place, but will be aware that he will struggle for game time under Frank.
Atletico sign Johnny Cardoso
As part of the sale of Giovanni Lo Celso to Real Betis, Tottenham had first pick on United States international Johnny Cardoso.
The defensive midfielder impressed last season in the heart of the team, helping guide the Spanish club to the UEFA Conference League final, where they lost 4-1 to Chelsea.
Spurs are reportedly in the market for a natural number six, but their option to sign Cardoso expired earlier this month before the 23-year-old officially joined Atlético Madrid on a five-year deal (16 July).
The deal may irk Spurs fans, who are already not on the best of terms with the La Liga giants after their prolonged pursuit of Cristian Romero.
Tottenham monitoring Garnacho situation at United
Tottenham are closely following Alejandro Garnacho’s situation at Manchester United as the Red Devils look to offload the forward.
He is part of a group of five players, including Marcus Rashford, who have been effectively exiled from the first team and forced to conduct individual training as they are no longer part of the club’s plans.
Frank is still looking to improve his front line in N17, and could look to the Argentina international as a long-term replacement for Son Heung-min.
A host of Premier League clubs are looking at the 21-year-old, including Aston Villa, but Tottenham’s newfound financial might could put them in pole position to sign the talented forward.
