Tottenham Hotspur have tabled a £70m bid to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo ahead of Manchester United, according to The Mirror.

The Lilywhites finalised the appointment of manager Thomas Frank this week from the Bees as they replaced Ange Postecoglou despite winning the Europa League in the 2024/25 campaign, earning them Champions League football for next season.

Now the Dane is looking to reunite with the Cameroon international in north London, and chairman Daniel Levy has now tabled a formal offer for the forward.

Tottenham Table £70m Bid for Mbeumo

Bid worth £10m more than Man Utd's opening offer

Mbeumo, who has been described as 'unplayable', was the subject of an offer from Manchester United last week after declaring that a move to Old Trafford was his preference for this summer.

But since then Frank has swapped west London for north London, and he wants Mbeumo to follow him instead of moving to Manchester.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham have now formally tabled an offer worth £65m plus £5m in add-ons, an offer worth £10m more than the Red Devils' offer last week which was rejected. While their offer hasn't been responded too yet, it's still believed that Mbeumo would prefer to move Old Trafford.

It was reported earlier on Friday that Spurs had held talks with Brentford about a move for the 25-year-old, and it's believed that they had received encouragement about getting a deal done.

Mbeumo is open to a move to Tottenham to reunite with Frank, although his priority is still Man Utd. However, while Brentford await a new bid from the Reds that is closer to their valuation, Spurs have a chance to hijack the deal.
