Tottenham and Crystal Palace will go head-to-head in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with both sides having one eye on a cup final.
Ange Postecoglou's side claimed a dominant win home and away against Bodø/Glimt in the Europa League to reach the final of the tournament, with a 1-1 draw against West Ham at the weekend in a disappointing top-flight season. Oliver Glasner's side on the other hand were also held to a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in their last outing, having reached the FA Cup final last month.
Both sides have got injury concerns heading into this game, and this is how GIVEMESPORT expects the teams to line up.
Tottenham Team News
Son still doubtful
Spurs are hopeful they will be able to get captain Heung-Min Son fit to return for the Europa League final, but he remains doubtful for the weekend clash, having missed the last five with a foot problem.
Radu Dragusin, Lucas Bergvall and James Maddison are all out for the rest of the season, as Postecoglou could look to rotate the squad to keep everyone fresh.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Postecoglou shared an update on his squad ahead of the game.
"Everyone got through Thursday okay, and we're half hopeful that we can get Sonny some minutes tomorrow, he'll be the only one who can really come back in.
"I think they [Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie] need to get obviously some game time between now and then, which where that happens, look, unlikely tomorrow because I think what we do know about Thursday night, playing on an artificial pitch takes a lot out of the players, it's fair to say they were sore.
"If we had another two weeks, potentially he [Bergvall] could [play in the final]. I am sure he will be trying, I am sure Madders will be trying mate just to get the strip on. Unfortunate for both of those guys, but that has been our season. Nothing has run smooth."
Tottenham Predicted XI
Tel and Gray to start
Tottenham Predicted XI: Vicario; Spence, Danso, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Gray; Odobert, Kulusevski, Tel; Solanke.
Tottenham Predicted Substitutes: Kinsky (GK), Porro (DEF), Romero (DEF), Davies (DEF), Bentancur (MID), Bissouma (MID), Johnson (FWD), Richarlison (FWD), Moore (FWD).
With one eye on the Europa League final in two weeks time, Postecoglou is likely to make changes to keep players fresh ahead of that game.
Archie Gray and Mathys Tel should come into the starting lineup as a result of this, with £255,000-a-week duo Cristian Romero and Richarlison benched.
Crystal Palace Team News
Wharton ruled out
The Eagles will be without key midfielder Adam Wharton for this game after he suffered a twisted ankle against Nottingham Forest, although he should return to training next week.
Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad are ruled out for the rest of the season, while Matt Turner is eligible to return after missing the game last week against his parent club.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Glasner shared an update on his squad ahead of the game.
"No, unfortunately he’s [Wharton] not available.
"If everything goes right he'll be re-integrated in full training next week, and on Wednesday when we start preparing for the [FA Cup] final. He is the only who can't play. All the others are fit and available.
“90% he can play [in the FA Cup final], but always things can happen. Sunday at Tottenham is too early.
“The pain is too much for this game. His ligament is a little bit damaged, that is the reason, the only reason [he can’t play]."
Crystal Palace Predicted XI
Will Hughes to start
Crystal Palace Predicted XI: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Hughes, Lerma, Mitchell; Sarr, Mateta, Eze.
Crystal Palace Predicted Substitutes: Turner (GK), Ward (DEF), Clyne (DEF), Chilwell (DEF), Kamada (MID), Devenny (MID), Esse (FWD), Franca (FWD), Nketiah (FWD).
Despite the FA Cup final being a week away Glasner is likely to keep the side relatively unchanged to continue with the rhythm, meaning Will Hughes should come in for Wharton, while Jefferson Lerma could start in midfield too to provide more energy.
