Tottenham have had a slow start to the season, unable to find the net in each of their first four league outings, but are coming into this one with back-to-back league clean sheets. Roberto De Zerbi’s side went down 3-1 to Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, following goalless draws with Nottingham Forest and Everton in the Premier League. They sit in 17th place with two points to their name thus far.
Villa have also endured a rocky start to their season, scoring just once and picking up their only point in a 0-0 draw away to Hull City. The goals have come more regularly outside the league, with a 3-2 victory over Club Brugge in the Champions League and, most recently, a 3-1 win away to Coventry City in the EFL Cup, where a Tammy Abraham brace helped them on their way to the fourth round.

De Zerbi issued a welcome boost to Spurs fans by confirming Sandro Tonali and Pedro Porro are available for selection after missing recent fixtures with knocks.

Amadou Onana is out for most of the season with a serious knee injury, while summer signings Leon Goretzka and Brian Madjo are also sidelined with injuries.
Joao Gomes and Matty Cash were further doubts for the game, though Emery mentioned they may be available to play a part.
Expect the likes of Emiliano Buendia, Nicolas Jackson and summer signing Johan Manzambi to come into the side after featuring from the bench in midweek.

Both sides will be desperate for a first Premier League win of the season, something that could create a cagey atmosphere in north London. Spurs will be hoping to put their poor home form behind them and finally kickstart their season, but Villa have won both of their recent visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and will hope to extend that record.
Spurs will be boosted by the return of the likes of Porro and Tonali and perhaps have stronger options off the bench than Villa may possess, but the visitors will take inspiration from their recent away wins in the Champions League and EFL Cup.
Expect a tight encounter with little to split the sides, and a draw seems like a very plausible outcome for this one.
