Tottenham bounced back from last Saturday's shocking performance in the 1-0 defeat to London rivals, Chelsea by routing Copenhagen 4-0 in the Champions League and they will need to be at their best again if they are to snap Manchester United's four-game unbeaten run.

The Red Devils have finally turned a corner under Ruben Amorim, winning three of the four games in their recent run, which suggests Saturday's Premier League showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium should be a scintillating spectacle.

Tottenham vs Manchester United preview

Life certainly was fun for the neutrals when Manchester United and Tottenham simultaneously posted worst-ever Premier League finishes last season, wasn’t it?

United finished 15th and Spurs were somehow two places worse off but there was not much to enjoy about May's Europa League final in Bilbao for impartial football followers as Tottenham edged a dire contest 1-0 thanks to a scruffy Brennan Johnson goal.

Unfortunately for those hoping to witness another domestic car crash of a season, both seem to have brought their European form into this campaign, setting up an intriguing lunchtime clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The pair each have 17 points after ten games and both should contribute to an exciting affair in north London.

United’s new-look attack is beginning to click, with Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha shining during a four-match unbeaten run which has seen the Red Devils score 12 goals.

A Tottenham defence which allowed Chelsea to rack up 3.7 xG in last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat is unlikely to have enough to keep that frightening frontline quiet, but, luckily for the Spurs faithful, the Lilywhites are unlikely to be as poor going forwards as they were in that London-derby loss.

Thomas Frank’s side managed just one shot on target against Chelsea but bounced back by routing Copenhagen 4-0 in the Champions League and should have more joy against a United team, who have managed just one clean sheet all season.

Ruben Amorim and Frank are meticulous tacticians who will try to outfox each other but football is often a simple game. When two strong attacks and a pair of weak defences meet, goals should flow.

Side with a lively north London affair by backing both teams to score and over 2.5 goals to land for the sixth time in United's last seven games.

Super Slovenian set to shine again

After a slow start to his United career – personified by him going tenth in a penalty shootout against League Two Grimsby – Sesko seems to have finally found his feet in England and is proving to be a real livewire, especially in the air.

Only Erling Haaland (15), Dan Ballard (ten) and Dango Ouattara (eight) have managed more headed shots on target than the Slovenian giant’s seven.

With only Fulham (12), Aston Villa and Brighton (both 12.8) winning fewer aerial duels than Spurs’ 13.6 per Premier League game this term, Sesko should get plenty of chances to add to that tally in north London.

Brazilian battler may pick up first booking

Saturday’s referee Sam Barrott's 5.2 yellow cards per game is the highest average in the Premier League this term, so expect bookings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Casemiro was booked first in United’s last visit to this ground and the combative Brazilian, who has three yellow cards in nine league appearances this term, may suffer the same fate.

Manchester United or draw double chance

Tottenham have won just three of their last 19 Premier League home matches while United are finally showing signs of improvement.

Over 4.5 cards

Referee Sam Barrott is averaging 5.2 cards per game this season – the most in the Premier League – so the cards should flow.

Casemiro over 0.5 shots on target

The experienced Brazilian has scored in two straight games and he should get plenty of chances against Spurs, who allowed Chelsea to rack up nine shots on target last week.
