Tottenham Hotspur host Nottingham Forest on Sunday at 2:15pm. It is a high-stakes match for both teams, who are currently split by one point in the Premier League table. Spurs enter the match following a morale-boosting 3-2 victory over Atlético Madrid in the Champions League. Having recorded an encouraging draw against Liverpool in their last league game, Spurs have ended a run of defeats, and built a platform in their bid for survival.

Forest were also in European action this week. Vitor Pereira’s side overcame FC Midtjylland via a penalty shootout to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League. Their Premier League form has been steady under the Portuguese manager, having avoided defeat in their last two outings, including a 2–2 draw against Manchester City. While they have become difficult to beat, Forest will be searching for their first league win since January 25. Despite their ongoing Europa League campaign, survival remains the priority and a positive result in north London would be monumental.

Tottenham Team News

No players are suspended for the hosts.

Guglielmo Vicario will undergo hernia surgery next week. However, the Italian is expected to start in goal for the Forest match.

After missing the Atletico Madrid encounter, Dominic Solanke is set to return. Speaking at Friday’s press conference, Igor Tudor confirmed: “Dom didn’t train, but probably tomorrow he’ll train and he’ll be available. There’s some problems with his hip, but I think he’ll be okay.”

Joao Palhinha is also expected to return, following a clash of heads with Cristian Romero in the first leg against Atletico.

Although the Forest game comes too soon, James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur and Mohamed Kudus are making progress.

Asked about Kudus, Tudor replied: “Maybe 10 days. I’m not sure, we need to check, but he’s progressing very well.” He added: “Bentancur as well. Maddison as well. We hope the medical staff will make us some nice surprise next week.”

Yves Bissouma, Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, Ben Davies, Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison and Mohamed Kudus are all ruled out.

Jair Cunha, who sustained an injury in the first leg of the Europa League tie, remains sidelined. Speaking at his press conference, Vitor Pereira confirmed: “Jair has an injury. I don’t know exactly how long he will stay out but he is recovering and doing treatment.”

When asked about Chris Wood’s return, he replied: “I don’t know. I don’t have the information about it.”

Pereira did manage to rest some key players in midweek. Matz Sels, Murillo, Elliot Anderson and Morgan Gibbs-White were all absent from the starting eleven.

Forest enter the Tottenham clash with no fresh injury concerns.
