Tottenham Hotspur have been extremely impressed by a young German starlet, but they will not find it easy to push through a deal for him in the summer.

There is a big element of the unknown at Tottenham as the summer transfer window draws closer.

Reports indicate that Roberto De Zerbi has been given the power to reshape the Spurs squad the way he wants to, and one would expect significant changes at N17 in the summer.

However, before he can think about his summer transfer targets, the Italian first needs to ensure that the Lilywhites are still in the Premier League next season.

Tottenham one of several clubs eyeing German starlet Niko Ilicevic

According to a report in Bild (as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham are one of the clubs in the picture to land Eintracht Frankfurt youngster Niko Ilicevic.

The attacking midfielder is only 15 years of age and is yet to get a taste of senior football, but his performances at the youth level have seen many talent spotters rank him as ‘one of the greatest talents in Europe’.

Spurs have been impressed by Ilicevic’s displays and are ‘want to lure’ the teenager to Hotspur Way this summer.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s stance on Ilicevic revealed

Bild say that Frankfurt want to promote the German U16 international to their first-team next season and are keen to offer him his first professional contract when he turns 16 in October.

In fact, the club’s sporting director, Markus Krösche, has already begun work on tying Ilicevic down to a new deal, having prioritised keeping the youngster at the club.

The outlet adds that Krosche is in close contact with the attacking midfielder’s family and has already presented the German club’s plan for his development to them.
