Tottenham Hotspur are considering appointing Fulham boss Marco Silva as a successor to Thomas Frank, according to CaughtOffside.

The North London side are claimed to be drawing up a shortlist of potential candidates to take over managerial duties from the Dane amid their difficult start to the season.

With just 10 wins in 25 games under Frank, Tottenham chiefs are believed to be growing frustrated with how the year is going and have already begun internal discussions regarding Frank’s long-term position at the club.

Spurs have won only two of their last nine Premier League games and fell to a heavy 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Tottenham Eyeing Marco Silva

According to CaughtOffside, certain senior figures at Tottenham are growing frustrated behind the scenes over the club’s performances under Frank this season.

While the Dane is not under immediate threat of losing his job, another dire run of results could end his time with Spurs prematurely, and the club appear to be eyeing several potential replacements already.

Silva is believed to be firmly among the names being considered, along with Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner and former manager Mauricio Pochettino, viewed as a ‘top candidate’.

Silva, praised as 'one of the best managers in the Premier League' by Calvin Bassey, took charge at Fulham in the summer of 2021 and led the Cottagers to the Championship title in his first season.

Under the Portuguese tactician, the West London club have finished 10th, 13th and 11th in the Premier League and set a club-record points tally last season with 54.

This term, the Cottagers are 14th with six wins from their first 16 games, two points below Tottenham, who are 11th.

Silva, as well as Glasner, are both out of contract at the end of the season, while Pochettino’s deal with the United States runs until after the 2026 World Cup.

Thomas Frank Under Pressure at Spurs

As GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano revealed this week, Frank is starting to feel pressure grow at Tottenham amid a difficult start to life in North London.

While senior Spurs figures are still waiting to see results improve, the Dane reportedly ‘knows’ he must improve performances soon to avoid losing his job mid-season.

Tottenham’s summer signings have also been underwhelming so far, with the trio of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani combining for just three league goals.

Richarlison and Kudus have been the main attacking threats so far, with nine and eight goal involvements respectively.
