Tottenham are among a host of Premier League clubs showing interest in a summer move for Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume, according to Fichajes.
The Lilywhites, along with Arsenal and Manchester United, are believed to have earmarked the France U21 international as a potential reinforcement for Thomas Frank’s midfield options this summer.
Agoume has emerged as one of Europe’s most promising defensive midfielders during his 18 months in Spain, and there is growing belief he could be open to a new challenge in the coming weeks.
The 23-year-old, who joined Sevilla from Inter Milan permanently last year, is under contract until June 2028.
Tottenham Keeping Tabs on Lucien Agoume
Among several Premier League clubs keen on the 23-year-old
According to Fichajes, Tottenham view Agoume as a chance to add a young and versatile player to their midfield and believe they could offer the Frenchman an ‘ideal’ environment for development.
There is a feeling Sevilla would consider offers in the region of €20m (£17m) for Agoume this summer, with Arsenal currently believed to be leading the chase.
Agoume, praised as ‘extraordinary’, played a key role in Sevilla’s domestic campaign last term, making 35 La Liga appearances and registering four goal contributions.
The 23-year-old also helped Sevilla narrowly avoid relegation, as the seven-time Europa League winners finished 17th, just one point above the bottom three.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Agoume made four senior appearances during his time at Inter.
Tottenham completed the permanent signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich last week and are reportedly seeking further low-cost market options ahead of their Champions League return.
According to reports, the Lilywhites are also considering bringing back academy graduate Kyle Walker-Peters on a free transfer, with his contract at Southampton set to expire next week.
