Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be lining up a bid to sign AC Milan star Fikayo Tomori in the coming weeks, according to reports - with the north London outfit set to undergo a mini-defensive reshuffle in the transfer market as they bid to strengthen their squad for next season.

A drab 17th-placed finish in the Premier League saw Tottenham endure their worst-ever campaign in the tournament, although a Europa League trophy win means they'll play in the Champions League next season - and that could help them tempt various stars to the club ahead of what is set to be a busy campaign.

Report: Tottenham 'Lining Up' Bid for Fikayo Tomori This Summer

The Europa League winners are targeting international players to come into their ranks

The report by TBR Football states that 'several' Premier League clubs have shown an interest in signing Tomori - with Tottenham being one of the key players in the race for the England international. Spurs were keen on a move for the 'unstoppable' Tomori back in the January transfer window, but the former Chelsea star turned down a move to north London in order to remain at Milan.

However, just nine starts from a possible 17 games in that time, including a red card vs Empoli, has seen new boss Max Allegri reportedly fail to favour him as part of his centre-back pairing for next season - opening the door for a move back to London after he left Chelsea for Milan in January 2021.

As a result, Spurs are back on Tomori's trail having secured Champions League football by virtue of winning the Europa League. And with regular football potentially on offer, he could force his way into Thomas Tuchel's England plans ahead of next summer's World Cup.

Tottenham are 'lining up' a bid to land the Canada-born star, and with the possibility that they may need to replace Cristian Romero, a move for a centre-back is now imperative for Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy if their centre-back star departs the club.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Fikayo Tomori has five caps for England, with his last Three Lions appearance coming in 2023.

Tomori has only made 17 Premier League appearances, with the majority coming under Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge, and he could begin his second chapter with a move to rivals Tottenham in a bid to revitalise his career.
