Luka Vuskovic’s rapid development may actually put Tottenham Hotspur in an extremely difficult position in the near future.

Vuskovic has been getting rave reviews after his impressive start to his loan spell at Hamburg, with the teenager being so good that it is hard to believe it’s his first taste of football in a top-five league.

The Spurs youngster has been labelled as the future of Croatian football, and Tottenham will be hoping that he can fulfil his potential at N17.

Vuskovic has revealed that Tottenham have a clear plan for his development, but it has now been suggested that his rapid rise may actually pose a problem to the Lilywhites.

Tottenham may be forced into a Luka Vuskovic decision next summer

Journalist Graeme Bailey has now pointed out that the 18-year-old is now showing that he is ready for top-level football, and he might be developing too quickly for the Lilywhites’ liking.

He suggested that Vuskovic may want to start regularly at the highest level as early as next season, and he might not have room to do that at N17, given Cristian Romero’s and Micky van de Ven’s presence at the club.

Bailey told TBR Football: “RB Leipzig and Dortmund are both in the market for a new defender in 2026, and Vuskovic is very much on their radar.

“Spurs love the player and have no intention to sell, but let’s see what the player thinks. Is there a pathway for him at Tottenham with Romero and Van de Ven in place? Currently, it’s hard to see one.”

Spurs may have to loan Vuskovic out again next season

Vuskovic revealed that Tottenham were happy for him to stay at the club this season, but he decided to go out on loan in order to play regularly.

Now that he is tasting regular Bundesliga football and excelling, there is no doubt that he will want to continue playing regularly next season.
