Barcelona are pressing forward with a move for a Tottenham target, but the Lilywhites are now prepared to spend big to beat the Catalan side to the player’s signature.
It has been reported over recent days that Thomas Frank’s number one priority this summer is to improve Tottenham’s attack, and that explains why we have seen several top-class attackers being linked with a move to N17.
However, it turns out that Spurs are also looking to sign a player in a position where they are fairly well-stocked. Tottenham have Pedro Porro and Djed Spence for the right-back spot, while Archie Gray has also filled in there on a few occasions.
Despite this, reports over recent weeks have claimed that Spurs have their eye on Monaco right-back Vanderson, who is expected to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer.
Tottenham prepared to ‘invest heavily’ in Vanderson
According to a report in UOL, Tottenham Hotspur are now locked in a transfer battle with Barcelona for the Monaco man’s signature.
The report claims that both clubs are keen on landing Vanderson, with Barca intensifying talks over a deal for the 23-year-old.
The outlet says that Hansi Flick’s men have to be wary of interest from Tottenham, who are still ‘firmly in the running’ to sign the Brazilian.

In fact, it is alleged that the North London club are willing to ‘invest heavily’ in Vanderson, who is valued at €35m (£30m) by Monaco.
Monaco prefer to sell Vanderson to Tottenham
UOL say that the Ligue 1 side prefers to do a deal with Spurs over Barca, presumably because the Premier League side are ready to offer more for the defender.
However, it is explained that Moncao would have to convince Vanderson regarding a move to N17 as the player has his heart set on a move to Camp Nou.
The publication adds that the La Liga champions are ‘counting on the player’s preference to play for the club’ as they push ahead with talks.
