Tottenham youngster Ange Postecoglou called up to Europa League squad signs new contract

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that one of their highly-rated academy graduates has now put pen to paper on a new contract at the club.

There are several senior Tottenham players, whose contracts are now running down and there has been plenty of speculation regarding their futures.

Spurs are reportedly trying to tie Rodrigo Bentancur to a new deal while several reports have claimed that Tottenham will cash in Cristian Romero if he does not sign an extension.

There continues to be speculation over the future of Heung-min Son, who is now in the final year of his deal, and it is not clear if the Lilywhites will offer their captain an extension.

Tottenham youngster Dante Cassanova signs new contract

While the speculation over these senior Spurs stars may persist, the Lilywhites have now been successful in tying down academy youngster Dante Cassanova to a new deal.

The versatile centre-back, who can also play as a defensive midfielder and right-back, is yet to make his senior debut for Tottenham.

However, he has been a regular for the Under-21s over the last two seasons, managing 16 appearances in Premier League 2 for Wayne Burnett’s side last term.

Cassanova was also called up to train with the first team during Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason’s time in charge following Antonio Conte’s exit. He was also named on the bench by Ange Postecoglou for a Europa League match against Ferencvaros.

Spurs have now confirmed that Cassanova has signed a new deal that ties him to the club until the summer of 2027.

Another Spurs academy graduate is expected to sign a new deal

Cassanova may not be the last Tottenham academy graduate to extend his deal this summer, with reports indicating that Mikey Moore is expected to sign a new contract when he turns 18 in August.

This development comes amidst reports that some European giants are looking to prise Moore away from Spurs this summer.
