Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for life under boss Thomas Frank. He has been picked as their replacement for Ange Postecoglou ahead of next season. The Dane caught their eye with fellow London side Brentford over recent years.
Spurs won the Europa League in the last campaign after beating Manchester United in the final in Bilbao. That means they they will be competing in next term’s Champions League. However, they finished down in 17th place in the Premier League and need to compete higher up the table next time around.
Tottenham Hotspur’s third shirt ‘leaked’
As per Footy Headlines, Spurs new third shirt has been leaked. It is worth noting that nothing has been officially announced by the club yet though. The kit, made by Nike, is yellow with navy blue detailing and would be the first jersey of that colour since 2020/21.
It uses the ‘Total 90 template’ which La Liga giants Barcelona will be utilising as well next season. In addition, the old badge used from 1999 to 2006 is also present on it. That means it has a more retro feel to it and appears to have a more old school vibe. The kit hasn’t gone down too well with supporters on social media though. Here is a look at what some fans have posted on X:
@BadRobot009 - “I’ll have a bowl of custard please”
@Fillandavillain - “Horrible”
@spurs_latestne - “Good kit but the black lines ruin it”
@cheesybeanmelt - “Oh no I hate it…..”
@DOKIIMAKI - “Had to ruin it with the lines”
@Dagtastic2 - “That’s disgusting!”
@Chris_Boler79 - “Horrendous”
@LukanBriggs - “Looks like a third rate training kit! Sorry to be negative l, but this isn’t real, surely?”
@ignorantfool3 - “Nike hate us”
@Sam89THFC - “Trash”
@XBJXZZY - “Looks like a Chelsea shirt I don’t like.”
@WrathofBadger - “Stop centering the crest”
@THFC_COYS1 - “Looks like a bib on the front”
@Bobbystewart03 - “I love a yellow away kit, I loved the total 90 designs and back in the day wish we had it. But this is too close to the mid 2000's Woolwich away kits”
What next for Tottenham Hotspur?
Frank will be looking to put his own stamp on the Spurs squad over the next couple of months. He has the chance to bring in some of his own type of players in the transfer window. He also has the opportunity to let some individuals head out the exit door as well if needed to free up space and funds in his ranks.
Kota Takai has completed a transfer to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and at the age of 20, he could turn out to be a useful long-term option. The Japan international, who has four caps under his belt so far in his career, rose up through Kawasaki Frontale’s academy ranks and was a regular for them at various different youth levels. He broke into their first-team in 2022 and played 81 matches in all competitions, chipping in with four goals. The towering centre-back will now be keen to show what he is all about in England.
