The Tottenham defender will be up against Leicester City’s Jordan James, Sheffield United’s Sydie Peck and Derby County’s Bobby Clark for the prize.
The young centre-back had already played almost a full season of senior football in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers before he made the switch to Spurs in 2023.
Since then, Phillips has spent six months on loan at Plymouth Argyle and has spent the last two seasons at Stoke, where he has racked up 79 appearances.
According to Stoke Sentinel, the Spurs youngster has now made the most ever appearances for Stoke as a loan player, and he has played more minutes in the Championship than any player aged 20 or under.
