Tottenham Hotspur's number one managerial target, Marco Silva, has confirmed he won't be leaving Fulham this summer despite reports that he's a leading candidate to replace Ange Postecoglou.
A change in the dugout could still be possible at Tottenham, despite the north London club winning the Europa League earlier this week. It was a disappointing season for Spurs, who finished in 17th place in the Premier League.
GIVEMESPORT sources confirmed back in April that Postecoglou's job security wasn't resting on whether they would win the Europa League this season. There's still a chance that the Australian manager will be sacked, with their Premier League performances likely deemed unacceptable despite lifting a trophy in Europe.
Tottenham Manager Target Confirms he Won't Leave
A report from Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio previously confirmed that Fulham boss Silva was Tottenham's number one target to replace Postecoglou this summer. However, speaking after Fulham's final Premier League game of the season, Silva has confirmed that he won't be leaving the club heading into the 2025/2026 campaign...
"I will be here next season."
Journalist Ben Jacobs recently confirmed to GIVEMESPORT that Silva was a 'leading candidate' to take over from Postecoglou if Spurs were to make a change in the dugout. Unfortunately for Tottenham, they've now been dealt a blow, and it's back to the drawing board if they are still considering sacking Postecoglou in the coming weeks or months.
Silva may still feel that he has unfinished business at Fulham after they failed to qualify for Europe this season. It looked as though the Cottagers had a strong chance of qualifying, but they ended the season in 11th. With further investment, there's no reason Fulham can't go on to finish in the top half and start pushing to battle with the other sides who are competing to qualify for European competitions.
