Tottenham fans have been handed a Morgan Gibbs-White transfer boost as transfer insider Pete O’Rourke makes a firm prediction.

Morgan Gibbs-White still remains a Nottingham Forest player, despite Tottenham Hotspur activating Gibbs-White’s £60million release clause a little over a week ago.

The Forest midfielder, who has since returned to training at the City Ground, even featured in Nottingham Forest’s recent pre-season friendly against Monaco.

Gibbs-White got a solid 45 minutes under his belt after being included in the starting XI for the Midlands club on Saturday afternoon.

Regardless, Spurs fans remain hopeful that Gibbs-White will still make a switch to N17 this summer, while Forest supporters have been quick to taunt those optimistic Tottenham supporters.

Pete O’Rourke backs Morgan Gibbs-White to join Tottenham

Football Insider’s chief correspondent, Pete O’Rourke, has now shared what he knows regarding the Gibbs-White to Tottenham transfer saga.

The transfer expert has revealed that he believes Gibbs-White will complete a move to Tottenham this summer, which will no doubt be music to the ears of Spurs fans.

However, he has admitted that he is uncertain about the timeline of the deal, describing the situation as messy for all involved, though he explained that he fully expects an agreement to be reached before the window slams shut.

“I fully expect Morgan Gibbs-White to make the move to Tottenham,” he told Football Insider. “If the Isak and Ekitike situations are complicated, this Gibbs-White one is messy.

“Spurs had gone and held talks with Gibbs-White, ready to activate that £60million release clause, and the player was ready to go and sign for Tottenham. He was due to take a medical last week, it all happened that quickly.

“Then Forest obviously put these hurdles up to halt the deal. Forest are obviously trying to delay things, but I fully expect the move to go through at some point. When that actually happens, we do not know.

“I expect that will happen once an agreement is made between Forest and Tottenham to stop these protests going any further.”

Spurs could move on if no deal is reached soon

It has been reported that next week is crucial for Tottenham Hotspur in their pursuit of the former Wolverhampton man.

It is believed that Gibbs-White has informed Forest that he wants the transfer saga between Spurs and the Tricky Trees to be resolved before Monday, when Nuno Espirito Santo’s side travel to Portugal for their pre-season tour.
