Few fans will forget our previous outing in the Women’s FA Cup quarter-final – as we produced history by progressing to the semi-final of the competition for the first time.

Taking on Manchester City at Brisbane Road in March, 2024, there was plenty of late drama in the capital as Bethany England’s goal deep in injury time cancelled out Mary Fowler’s early opener in the contest to force the game into extra time.

After we couldn't be separated after the 120 minutes in total, it went to a penalty shootout where an inspired Becky Spencer produced the heroics to deny City’s first two penalties – Alex Greenwood and Chloe Kelly seeing their efforts superbly saved.

Although Rosella Ayane was kept out on our third attempt, we continued to convert our following spot-kicks with confidence before defender Amy James-Turner showed complete calmness to slot home the winning penalty in the shootout and secure us a 4-3 win.

It was the first time we had progressed to the final four of the competition, where we went on to beat Leicester City 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and reach the showpiece event at Wembley Stadium for the first time in our history.
